The legendary drum and bass pioneer performed a stunning set at the Hare and Hounds in November 2016, he returns to the city in February to give the Institute’s PA a thrashing as he takes us back to New Forms. Rising to prominence as part of Bristol’s thriving nineties dance culture with the likes of DJ Krust and DJ Die with whom he went on to form Full Cycle Records and subsequently Reprazent. A born innovator Size mixed jazz, funk and soul into his shows evolving fully the sound that exploded onto the New Forms album. There has never been a drum and bass album quite like it. The best selling single from it ‘Brown Paper Bag’ signalled a revolution in dance; mixing a ballsy cerebral hypnotism, that can still melt any dance floor, with a deeply forged monster bass riff. Size’s live presentation of the album in a dazzling cacophony of multimedia effects is sophisticated and possessed of a powerfully iconic resonance.
