Self-involved, toi? In our switched-on, fully plugged-in and meticulously self-curated world, no wonder a silent disco suddenly sounds a whole lot sexier than the noisily intrusive alternative. A party in your own earphones surrounded by other aural onanists entirely unselfconsciously doing exactly the same – it’s like a dream date with yourself. And as if the silent bit wasn’t enough value-added quirk to pique your party curiosity, then this one’s being held in our very own art gallery and museum with the added bonus of ancient Egyptians, pre-Raphaelites and Baroque-out style wordplay potential. Hosted by shamelessly self-indulgent party people Silent Noize and High Fidelity, they promise to bring the noise (or not) to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery’s gorgeous and conveniently licensed Edwardian Tearooms with three DJ’s playing dance music, pop, indie, party classics and power ballads (we know which channel we’ll be glued to then). Party goers get a pair of 3 channel headsets with LED lights to highlight your friends excellent music tastes/brilliant rhythm. A perfectly quiet night out. Limited tickets are moving fast, book soon.
