Birmingham brand Resonate present three of the most boundary-pushing artists in electronic music. Springing into the spotlight with the forward-thinking, organ-led dubstep of ‘Hyph Mngo’ back in 2009, Joy Orbison has garnered a reputation for both his dissolving of genre boundaries and his unique DJ sets. Scuba’s synthesised sounds are similarly idiosyncratic – introspective, claustrophobic and percussive in equal measure, a listen to his back-catalogue is a lesson in sonic evolution. And experimental techno enigma Objekt is much from the same mould, frequently delving deep into his tool box of tricks to produce scatterbrained songs from the shape-shifting soundscapes of dubstep and beyond. It’s clear these three tastemakers are on the same page – let’s put them all together and see what happens.
