Arguably the kings of the American post-hardcore renaissance, Touché Amore toppled their own impressive resumé with their latest album, ‘Stage Four’; catharsis and destruction never sounded so uplifting or inviting. Quickly outgrowing the dream-pop scene that launched him, these days Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum is setting his sights on the psychedelic, glammy indie of Deerhunter or Connan Mockasin, with the metronomic devotion of New Order. Teleman’s neatly explosive indie rock anthems demonstrate that colouring fastidiously inside the lines can be pretty damn exhilarating; just ask Metronomy or Franz Ferdinand.
