1. Free: Monster Madness Museum party at the Museum at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery
Parents can bring their little mummies, witches and vampires along to enjoy a free spooktacular ‘Monsters at the Museum’ day at BMAG Ghoulish fun includes ‘orrible object handling and frightening face painting. A Halloween party 12pm – 3pm will have ghoulish DJs for dead good dancers, family mummification shows, fancy dress prizes and the chance to capture your costume in the portrait booth of fear.

2. Thinktank’s Spooky Science Night
The Thinktank opens after hours with eerie experiments, a science of fright show and the chance to enter the planetarium to experience the wonder of optical illusions.

3. Haunted Mansion & Fright Nights at haunted Aston Hall
Aston Hall is hosting family friendly experiences as the Hall will be transformed into a haunted mansion.

Adults and kids over 12 can also take part in an interactive terror tour. Ghostly sightings at the Hall make this event not one for the faint of heart – there have been sightings of a grey lady and a green lady thought to be linked to a daughter of Sir Thomas Holte, who built Aston Hall, and is said to have locked her in her room for years when they disagreed over potential suitors. Lots of slots are sold out already so book fast.

5. Pumpkin flotilla at Sarehole Mill
Birmingham’s only Pumpkin flotilla at Sarehole Mill, watch your pumpkins float across the Mill Pond at twilight. Complimentary hot chocolate to keep you warm.

8. Pop Art half-term Halloween fun at Wolverhampton Art Gallery & Bilston Craft Gallery
Inspired by the gallery’s Roy Lichtenstein exhibition and the use of Ben-Day dots in his works. Young visitors can have their faces painted in a dotty cartoon style and make fabulous fun pictures inspired by the exhibition.
