If live music’s your thing and you fancy something a little different, then look no further than Sofar Sounds. Creating a worldwide phenomenon across 249 cities worldwide, Sofar are bringing the magic back to live music through a continuous selection of exclusive, intimate gigs in venues from beaches to backyards. Birmingham plays host to two of these, on June 27th and 28th respectively. To be a part of the revolution, simply check out their website and apply to attend a show. You choose how much you pay and find out whether you’ve been accepted a few days before the show, with the location being revealed 24 hours prior to doors opening. You could end up anywhere from somebody’s garage to a fully functioning theatre. It won’t be announced who’s playing until you turn up on the night, but rest assured in the knowledge that the So Far Birmingham team will have sourced a range of exciting musical talent. Some of these secret shows have already seen the likes of Karen O, Bastille, James Bay, Hozier and Leon Bridges rock up – so it’s certainly worth a roll…
