Upbeat, sophisticated indie rockers Sundara Karma bring their rousing sounds to The Rainbow in Digbeth as part of their ongoing tour. The Reading based four piece supported Circa Waves last year and are already beginning to establish a name for themselves. After appearing on The Guardian’s New Band of the Day feature and the BBC’s New Music playlist, they have solidified their up-and-coming status in the new indie rock genre and they can already boast over three quarters of a million Spotify streams. Reminiscent of Springsteen combined with Palace featuring a little sprinkling of Baby Strange, the boys create indie anthems with choruses just made for sing alongs. Their exotic pop and persistent guitar riffs offer a little glimmer of magic that sets them apart from their peers.
Poignant and poetic, surging and stomping, their lyrics demand to be heard and judging by their growing popularity this request is being met. These are musically talented kids looking likely to hit the big time – be sure to catch them in Birmingham whilst this hunger is still their motivating force.
