Albatross Death Cult, the latest project from celebrated chef Alex Claridge, has been named in the Michelin Guide just two months after opening its doors.

The tasting menu-only restaurant — which takes its slightly obscure name from Coleridge’s poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner —  arrived in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in June.

The intimate venue seats just 14 people per service, with each diner getting a front-row view of chefs preparing ‘an ever-changing, rapid-fire sequence of twelve (or more) creative servings of (mostly) seafood and coastal ingredients that smack you in the face like ocean spray.’

Upon confirming Albatross Death Cult’s inclusion in its latest round of newcomers, the Michelin judges proclaimed: “The whole experience, centred around an attractive counter, will be a memorable one.”

The Albatross Death Cult tasting menu is currently priced at £88 per person. You can find more information and book a table using the button below.
