Lancaster’s The Lovely Eggs are one of the most dynamically turbocharged and lyrically clued up duo’s to ever beat a drum and thrash a guitar. The married couple of Holly Ross and David Blackwell have a gloriously askew and uniquely English view of an unsettling world which they make sense of in a raft of songs that drift from peculiarly upbeat swipes at a senseless modernity through to sometimes slightly maudlin rants at the difficulty of love and a charming sideways look at everything between. Beloved of Steve Lamacq and Marc Riley, The Lovely Eggs leave a trail of delightfully cute destruction wherever they go, come and get nicely psyched out.
