New York’s teenage D’Addario brothers have been baffling critics since signing to the mighty 4AD records in 2015. Their lo-fi brand of camp glam indie-pop has been compared to Supertramp, Wings and the Ramones. Debut album ‘Do Hollywood’ merely reinforced the breadth of their sound and the complete lack of an appropriate label with which to tag them. The boys breezy eclecticism they attribute to their father’s record collection. Daddy D’Addario was a pop star of sorts himself in the 70’s and its clear his influence runs deep. There’s no mistaking the heady whiff of the Beatles and The Beach Boys but how couldn’t there be when the Lemon Twigs pop confection is this sweet? Hipster chancers or pop genius’? Stop analysing, close your eyes and lose yourself in the dreamy fun of first single ‘These Words’.
