Magic Door is back this Spring in its spiritual home of Boxxed in Digbeth. Promising a night of music, magic, glitz and silliness in an ‘other-worldly atmosphere’, the renowned event has kept quiet since their epic New Year’s Eve bash. Hosting only the most flamboyant and exotic of events, organisers promise copious amounts of glitter and a night you won’t forget.
Cherish your ‘Magic Bean’ upon entry, as you will need it to pass through the Magic Door and for your makeover from the infamous ‘Crafty Girls’. Be it fancy dress, face paint or fabulous glitter, all manner of props and disguises will be provided, from wigs, to feathers, to moustaches and capes. The Guardian of the Door will permit you entry down the ‘Rabbit Hole’ (or slide) for full access to the dancefloor. Expect the unexpected from Jukes of Hazard and Deano Ferrino, with a secret guest DJ still to be announced. With the music genre specified as ‘spookyhouse’ and ‘discotechno’ and a photo booth provided, it’s sure to be a brilliant night as ever. The exotic set up, resident DJs and surreal finishing touches are what make Magic Door so mesmerising and memorable. Starting off as a small-scale startup form the Midlands, it now sells out without fail well in advance to host one of the best nights in Birmingham. Be sure to book your tickets early.
